Thursday, April 29:  The French Haircut

Today I woke up to find that it was.....................raining. Well, our 11 day record of perfect sun had to be broken sometime. I got dressed and ready to go, and soon we were out to get coffee. At the Sporting Bar, I got orange syrup, which didn’t taste like orange, but was very delicious anyway. I noticed that the dog wasn’t hanging around, so I was disappointed. Then we walked outside in the rain and walked to the nearby post office to mail our postcards I wrote yesterday. I waited around until my dad had finished, but then he needed to make a phone call in a booth. I waited on the bench while Mom and Robert looked at postcards, and it wasn’t long until he finished. After that, everyone was starting to get hungry, so we headed over to some bakeries. Robert and I stopped at the place where I got the big chocolate thing, and this time I got a chocolate eclair. Then we walked down to a bread shop, where my mom got a quiche, and my dad got some pizza. For at home, Mom bought a baguette. As we walked out, my dad started a conversation with an old man who owned a B+B around here. We took his card, and then left. After THAT, my dad wanted to find the haircutter place, to see if it was open now, but it wasn’t. It was 11:40, so we were kinda hungry, so we ate right there.

My food was great, and so was everybody else’s. After that, we trudged through the rain in the direction of home. When we finally got there, we plunged in the main room like sloths. My dad wanted to go to the internet cafe again, so both of us came this time. We got a different computer, so that we could switch off. When Dad was done, we walked back home. At our Gite, my mom said that we were going out to get our haircut (dun dun dun dun) at a new place (Dun Dun Dun Dun) in France!(DUN DUN DUN DUN) AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! It was at a little parlor near the square, so we walked in. Mom dropped us off, because she was doing her hair somewhere else. It was a kinda long wait, so I read old magazines. Soon it was our turn, so I sat down in the chair. The man who did my hair was short and nice. He was very fast, so soon it was done. He showed me, and I said I liked it. I hopped down, and then Mom came, because her salon was across the street. She took Robert and I while dad stayed and got his done. After that we walked back home again. While there, I did my two English test and my Religion test, just to get them out of the way. By that time Mom, Robert, and I wanted to watch a movie, so we sat on the couch and watched “Daddy Day Care.”

Then, (it was 7:30), we walked out to dinner in the plaza. Tonight we decided to go to the Festival Cafe again, the one where the lady practically begged us to come in while looking at the posted menu. We sat down, and I ordered a steak with fries, orange juice, and coffee ice cream. Everything was just as delicious, and the ice cream had real coffee beans, which was cool. After our meal, we played cards until we payed the bills and left. Back at home again, I examined my haircut. It looked normal, except for the short bangs. Then I went to bed. After all of these days of doing nothing, we are......
